Combat Face Puffiness With These Esthetician's Tips

We've all experienced waking up with a puffy face at some point. Whether it's due to salty takeout, a few cocktails, or hormonal changes, there are several strategies you can implement to help de-puff your skin.

Regulate Your Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in detoxifying your body. Lymphatic fluid moves in one direction from the bottom up and cannot move backward. A sedentary lifestyle can cause lymph stagnation, leading to toxin buildup and puffiness. To promote lymphatic drainage, incorporate movement into your daily routine.

Jumping Jacks: One of the best ways to stimulate your lymphatic system is by doing jumping jacks or jumping on a trampoline. Aim for three minutes of jumping jacks each morning, breaking it up into one-minute intervals if needed. If you're in good aerobic shape, 300 jumping jacks will set you up for the day.

Avoid Processed and Refined Foods

Processed foods, refined carbohydrates, and excessive sugar can contribute to puffiness. High sodium content in these foods can cause significant water retention, leading to a swollen face.

The recommended daily salt intake is 3-5 grams, but many adults consume more than 8 grams. Additionally, refined sugars and carbohydrates can also cause water retention, so keeping an eye on your consumption levels will only benefit you.

Use Gua Sha Tools and Cryo Sticks

Use facial tools like Gua Sha and Cryo Sticks every morning to combat any puffiness.

Gua Sha Tools:
While the claim that Gua Sha tools lift the skin is debated, they are excellent for draining excess fluids and addressing lymphatic stagnation. Incorporate a Gua Sha tool, like the Ginto Tool, into your daily routine. The Ginto tool will absorb any present artificial or solar light in the room and emit it as a gentle microamp that is meant to help tone and firm the skin.

Use it with a milky cleanser like Lait VIP 02 for glide, which also oxygenates and brightens the skin. Don't forget to promote drainage at the base of your neck by your clavicles by using your fingers and Gua Sha tool. Watch how I use the Gua Sha tool with Lait VIP 02 here

Cryo Sticks and Masque VIP 02:
For instant results or before an important event, use Cryo Sticks and Masque VIP 02. Apply the mask from the fridge and use the Cryo Sticks starting from your chin, moving outward and upward. This routine helps oxygenate and de-puff the skin. Watch a demonstration video here.

Address Hormonal Changes

Hormonal fluctuations can significantly impact puffiness, especially for women. It's normal to feel puffy a week before your period, during pregnancy, and in the transition to menopause. To regulate hormonal changes, make the following changes:

  • Diet: Avoid excess alcohol, simple carbohydrates, and sugar. Regulate your blood sugar for a healthy metabolism.
  • Sleep: Aim for 8-12 hours of sleep per night.
  • Stress Management: Remove emotional toxicity and manage stress, as psychosomatic impacts are real.
  • Exercise: Incorporate walking, weight lifting, and spending time outdoors.

By implementing these tips and using the recommended products, you can effectively manage and reduce facial puffiness, ensuring a fresh and revitalized appearance.
