Timing Your Facial Masks For Flawless Skin

Facial masks are a staple in skincare routines everywhere because of their effectiveness in addressing various skin concerns. Knowing when and how often to use masks can help you maximize their benefits so that your skin is always in its best, most balanced state.

As an esthetician, I love incorporating masks into my routine at strategic times to give my skin the extra boost it needs. Here are the best times that I recommend you use a mask to give your skin some extra TLC!

Before A Special Event

Prep your skin for a big event by getting it photo-ready with a mask that’ll help your skin glow.

Hydrating Masks

These are perfect for giving your skin a plump, dewy look. Use Biologique Recherche’s Masque Visolastine+ to boost skin hydration by providing water to the outer layers of the epidermis and to lock in moisture. Masque VIP O2 is also a great option as it contains a moisturizing active ingredient that nourishes skin exposed to the atmospheric pollution of urban living.

Brightening Masks

Masks with vitamin C or other brightening agents can help even out your skin tone and add a natural glow. Try Masque PIGM 400, which is concentrated in exceptional brightening and antioxidant active ingredients that give an amazing boost to leave the skin radiant. Masque VIP O2 also acts as a brightening and oxygenating treatment and helps to fight dark circles and fatigue in the skin.

After A Workout

After my workouts, I look for masks that will detoxify my skin and prepare it for the day.

My favorite mask combo is taking Masque Bain De Plantes and Masque VIP O2 and mixing them together. Bain De Plantes removes excess sebum on the surface of the skin, while also regulating the rate of secretion without dehydrating the skin. Masque VIP O2 neutralizes pollutants to prevent them from reaching the skin cells, and eliminates cellular waste built up by the oxidation of lipids and proteins.

I aim to do this mask combo atleast 2-4 times a week for best results!

Post-Travel Skincare

Travel can take a toll on your skin due to changes in climate, altitude, and exposure to different environments. After a trip, consider using:

Detoxifying Masks

To remove impurities and rejuvenate tired skin. A purifying mask like BioMagic Mask can purify the epidermis by reducing skin imperfections.

Soothing Masks

To calm any irritation caused by environmental changes. Use a soothing mask like Masque Biosensible which has active ingredients that alleviate the appearance of skin irritations and help strengthen the skin’s natural barrier. It calms and relieves sensations of tightness, flushing and itching.

Addressing Skin Concerns

Acne

Acne-prone skin benefits from regular masking. Using Mask Vivant 2-4 times a week can help repair the skin's biome, promote healthy bacteria, and purify and brighten the skin.

Pigmentation

Focusing on masks that will lighten and brighten your skin is great to address pigmentation issues. Masque PIGM 400 has brightening and antioxidant active ingredients to leave the skin glowing.
